Chi Nei Tsang® I – Foundation Level – CNT I

Date: April 9 – 12, 2027 from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (4 days)

Chi Nei Tsang® is an abdominal massage of the internal organs and a protected method developed by Taoist Master Mantak Chia.

For more information about the Universal Healing Tao system, visit: Universal Healing Tao Instructors Association

Chi Nei Tsang® (CNT) is used to support the cleansing and revitalization of the internal organs. It integrates elements of Chinese and Thai massage together with Taoist meditation practices, making it a unique holistic approach to well-being. The techniques can be practiced for self-care as well as applied professionally with others, including children.

CNT is often described as the art of transforming and recycling stagnant energies that may manifest on both energetic and physical levels, particularly in the abdominal area. Through focused abdominal work, practitioners aim to support the body’s natural ability to release tension, improve circulation, and restore balance within the internal organs.

Upon completion of the training, participants will receive:

  • A certificate of Attendance
  • A study manual to support continued practice and learning
  • Guidance on documenting case studies for those wishing to pursue future certification
  • Ongoing support throughout their learning journey 🙂

What will you gain from Chi Nei Tsang® massage?

Eliminate blockages of life energy (stress, fears, worries). Awaken your self-healing powers and become your own doctor and diagnostician! Stimulate all detoxification systems to perform their work.

Flush toxins, negative emotions, and excess heat or dampness from the internal organs. Release negativity and stagnant emotions. Help your loved ones relieve pain and discomfort.Become a CNT practitioner and professionally help others.

Who needs Chi Nei Tsang® (self-)massage?

Everyone. From children to seniors, and everyone in between. Blockages of life energy in the abdominal area can already be observed in newborns who suffer from colic, bloating, and/or other digestive issues. Signs of a toxic overload in teenagers may manifest as skin problems, restlessness, hyperactivity, difficulty concentrating, hormonal imbalances, eating disorders, and allergies. All adults who experience stress, worries, and fears, and who are unable to relax, can greatly benefit from this type of massage.

“Once you learn Chi Nei Tsang® (self-)massage, you will know it for life. You will be able to practice it regularly on yourself and on others. Once you have learned it, this technique becomes very simple. You will need only a few minutes a day (for example, in bed just before going to sleep), and you will continuously clear all the impurities from your internal organs! You will awaken your self-healing powers and become your own very special doctor and subtle diagnostician!”

TOK SEN

Chi Nei Tsang III – Healing Harmony

Date: April 13 – 15, 2027 from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (3 days)

Tok Sen is an ancient Thai massage technique used to improve the flow of energy and enhance the body’s natural restorative and healing abilities.

In Thai, Tok Sen means the release of energy pathways or the removal of energetic blockages in the body. Tok Sen is a healing and unique massage technique that is still practiced in its traditional form in the Thai countryside and in Buddhist monasteries, as it helps improve energy flow and relieve pain. It uses mechanical and sound vibrations that work deeply through the fascial layers into the muscles. This unique technique was developed in Lanna (the Chiang Mai region of Northern Thailand) more than five thousand years ago, while the Chinese were developing acupuncture during the same period.

Master Mantak Chia, founder of the Universal Healing Tao system, integrated Tok Sen into Chi Nei Tsang Healing Harmony. As a result, this massage technique gained entirely new dimensions, as it is also applied to the abdomen (which, in Taoism, is considered the “second brain”).

Tok Sen is a therapeutic bodywork technique that uses a wooden hammer and various specially shaped wooden tools. Through gentle, rhythmic tapping along the energy pathways (Sen), vibrations are created that travel through the body’s tissues, helping to restore the flow of energy. The rhythm of the tapping is very important, as it helps the entire body relax. Most commonly, the rhythm consists of three strikes: one, two, three, and again one, two, three.

Different wooden tools are used on different parts of the body, serving as an extension of the therapist’s fingers, which can quickly become fatigued and sore when working with larger blockages. These wooden tools are highly useful and adaptable, allowing access to areas that might otherwise be difficult to reach.

During a Tok Sen session, the practitioner remains in continuous contact with the body, touching it with the hands and fingers to feel changes and determine where additional mechanical and sound vibrations are needed. Communication and feedback from the person receiving the treatment are also important aspects of the practice.

Just as in the tradition of Thai massage or Chi Nei Tsang abdominal self-massage, Tok Sen can also be practiced as a self-massage on certain parts of the body. For areas that cannot be reached, the assistance of a therapist is needed.

Tok Sen is a simple technique that does not require any special prior knowledge (although knowledge of Chi Nei Tsang is helpful) and can be combined with other massage techniques.

BENEFITS OF TOK SEN

Some of the benefits of this ancient Thai/Chinese healing method include improved blood circulation, relaxation of stiff ligaments, tendons, and tense muscles, as well as improved nerve function. Tok Sen works particularly well on tendons, which tend to become stiff with age and prolonged sitting in fixed postures. For this reason, the technique has become increasingly important in rejuvenation programs and is appearing more and more often in regeneration and anti-aging centers throughout Asia and Europe.

An old saying states: “Young tendons; a young, flexible, and healthy body.” When tendons are elastic, the entire skeletal structure remains naturally aligned, muscles stay relaxed, and they do not compress blood vessels, nerves, lymphatic channels, or meridians. In this way, all parts of the body are properly nourished and can function optimally.

Treating the entire body with Tok Sen is one of the better ways to maintain health. This has been confirmed through thousands of years of use. Since tendons are heavily stressed in everyday life, their health is of great importance to the body. When, for example, we work on the tendons around the joints with Tok Sen, we also positively influence the tendons of the internal organs and, consequently, the entire body.

This therapy has a positive effect on virtually every part of the body and therefore on its overall functioning:

  1. Improves blood circulation.
(Better circulation nourishes the body and helps release blocked energy more quickly.)
  2. Relaxes the muscles.
    (Tense muscles compress the capillaries.)
  3. Stimulates the flow of energy in the peripheral nervous system.
(These nerves run parallel to the capillaries. With every strike of the wooden hammer, vibrations strengthen the capillaries and peripheral nerves, which also helps relax the muscles.)
  4. Helps relieve pain caused by various conditions:
    • headaches, migraines
    • shoulder pain, tension in the shoulder tendons, joint immobility (“frozen shoulder”)
    • pain caused by shortened tendons, muscular tension in the back, shoulder blade issues, back pain
    • lower back pain and difficulty bending forward
    • lumbar pain and nerve compression (“sciatic nerve”)
    • thigh pain (“hamstring strain”)
    • calf pain, pain in the soles of the feet, and numbness
    • pain in the arm, elbows, numbness of the upper arm, forearm, and hand
  • Relaxes the entire body so that self-healing can begin.

During the workshop, we will also become familiar with the basics of Chi Nei Tsang and practice massage techniques such as vacuum massage (cupping), Gua Sha, and warm herbal massage.

The workshop is intended for beginners as well as for those who would like to refresh their knowledge. It will also be possible to take an examination for those who are collecting study cases.

Upon completion of the Tok Sen workshop, you will receive a Universal Healing Tao Certificate of Attendance from the school of Mantak Chia.

Chi Nei Tsang II

Chasing The Winds

Date: April 16 – 18, 2027 from 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM (3 days)

Enhancing Qi Energy in the Vital Organs

In Taoism, good health is based on the free and harmonious flow of vital life energy, known as Qi (Chi). Its balanced movement is often compared to a beneficial wind that brings harmony, vitality, and well-being.

However, when energy becomes stagnant within the body, it may, according to Taoist understanding, turn into a disruptive force contributing to physical and emotional imbalances. Traditionally, this energy is referred to as “Sick Wind” or “Evil Wind.”

Chi Nei Tsang® II is an advanced level of traditional Taoist abdominal therapy that focuses on recognizing, understanding, and releasing the 12 Energetic Winds (12 Winds). In Taoist tradition, these winds represent different patterns of energetic imbalance that may interfere with the harmonious flow of vital Qi energy.

Advanced Chi Nei Tsang® techniques develop greater sensitivity to stagnant energy, helping practitioners identify and release energetic blockages and support the restoration of balanced energy flow.

According to Taoist teachings, unfavorable energies often accumulate in the abdominal area as a result of stress, tension, and the lingering effects of past illnesses.

For this reason, Chi Nei Tsang® II uses specialized rhythmic pumping and pressing techniques (Pumping and Pressing), applying carefully directed pressure with the elbows, thumbs, and fingers to specific reflex points around the navel, traditionally associated with individual internal organs.

These techniques also involve working with Wind Access Points, located near traditional acupuncture and acupressure points.

Working with the body’s pulses also plays an important role in this method, allowing practitioners to develop greater sensitivity, perceive the body’s natural rhythms, and adapt the depth and intensity of touch accordingly.

Chi Nei Tsang® II builds upon the fundamental principles of harmonization, cleansing, and revitalization of the internal organs introduced in Chi Nei Tsang® I.

These advanced techniques allow practitioners to work more deeply at an energetic level, focusing on releasing stagnant energies, restoring inner balance, and supporting the body’s natural processes of regeneration and well-being.

The purpose of Chi Nei Tsang® II is to harmonize the internal organs, release deep-seated tensions, strengthen vital Qi energy, and support vitality and inner balance.
